Is it possible to fix a cracked windscreen?
If the damage fits under a one-dollar coin, it can often be repaired. Anything bigger should be replaced as soon as you can, because it weakens the glass. A chip in the driver’s view may still need a new screen, even when it is small. Send a photo and we will tell you which it is.
Is it worth repairing a chipped windscreen?
Yes, when the chip is small enough. A repair costs less than a new windscreen. You may still see it faintly if you look closely. The reason to repair is strength. It makes it less likely that the chip will run into a crack.
What should I do if I get a chip in the windscreen?
A stone chip picks up dirt and oil. Put a small piece of clear tape on the outside of the windscreen, over the chip, so it stays clean until we arrive. Then give us a call or send the form. Try not to use the washer jets on the chip.
How long does it take?
A chip repair is usually about 15 minutes. A replacement takes about an hour, then the glue needs about 30 minutes to cure before you drive.
Do I have to bring my car to you, or will you come to me?
No. We come to you. We meet you and the car at home or at work, across Sydney Metro, Macarthur, the Illawarra and the Southern Highlands.
Do you give a price before the work starts?
Yes. You get the price before anyone starts. The form asks for the car, the glass, and where it will be parked, so the price is for your actual job.
What if I am not happy with the work?
Our work comes with a lifetime workmanship guarantee. It stays with you, and it does not pass on if you sell the vehicle. If something about the work is not right, call us and we will come and have a look.
