Windscreen Chip Repair
We fill small stone chips so the glass stays stronger and the damage is less likely to spread. A repair costs less than a new windscreen, and it usually takes about 15 minutes.
A chip that fits under a one-dollar coin can often be repaired. Larger damage weakens the screen and should be replaced. A chip in the driver’s direct line of sight may still be better as a new screen, even when it is small. We will tell you before we start.
A repair costs less than a new windscreen. You may still see it faintly if you look for it. The reason to repair is strength. The resin fills the chip, so it is less likely to run into a crack that needs a full replacement.
A stone chip collects dirt and oil. Put a small piece of clear tape on the outside of the windscreen, over the chip, until we arrive. That keeps it clean for the repair. Try not to use the washer jets on the chip.
